With all the changes that are being developed during "Continuity
and Change" process, it is imperative that the leaders
of COE/CMA be up to date with actions and continuing plans
of the soon-to-be Knowledge & Community (K&C) Groups
and Institutes Sectors of ASME. For the most recent activities
for Continuity and Change, please go to www.asme.org/change
Your
active participation is key to the success and direction of
the new K&C and Institutes Sectors.
We
invite all delegates to an interactive discussion on K&C
and Institutes Operations and and Financial Structure to be
held on Friday, March 4, from 2:00pm to 3:45pm, prior to the
start of the TEC. The session will be a facilitated discussion
to explore both the operations and finances for units within
the K&C area. The Session is open to all TEC delegates.
A panel of ASME volunteers and Staff will be on hand to answer
questions and build a roadmap for actions following the TEC.
As
part of the preparation for this session, we ask that you
become acquainted with the following background materials
(attached) prior to coming to the meeting.
We
also recommend that you become acquainted with ongoing activities
and discussions taking place within the Community of Practice
(CoP) website for Fair and Sustainable Accounting and Knowledge
& Community. The CoP site is located at: https://cop.asme.org/COP.
You must register with the CoP site to gain access and provide
input. After registering, click on Join/Visit Communities
and select:
- Knowledge
& community Groups Sector - Operations
- Fair
& Sustainable Accounting
In
"Fair & Sustainable Accounting", the goal is
to develop a financial model for reconciling unit support
and entrepreneurship with the need to maintain organization
viability and sustainability. Issues to be addressed include
section appropriations and funding, custodian funds, and revenue
sharing.
Please
join the site and review these documents and provide your
comments and suggestions.
I
look forward to you seeing you and sharing your feedback.
Sincerely,
Frank
