What is TEC?
The TEC is an annual event that provides Council on Engineering
(COE) leaders and key committee personnel with the information
they need to manage successfully the affairs of their ASME units.
The TEC also provides
- An
overall view of the Society's activities
- An
opportunity to interact with ASME staff and leaders of other
units; and
- An
opportunity for the interchange of ideas to affect changes
in Society operations consistent with ongoing changes in
the engineering workplace
Whos
Invited to Attend the TEC?
Attendance
at the TEC is by invitation only. "Delegates" are
selected by key COE leaders. The TEC participants include
key delegates from the COE and these COE units:
-
Technical Divisions, Subdivisions, and Institutes
- Technical
Group Operating Boards
- Board
on Communications
- Board
on Research and Technology Development
Since
TEC is the only such training provided to COE leaders, it
is sincerely urged that all selected delegates attend, especially
incoming leaders. Selected Society officers, "Mentors"
and staff members are also invited to help and to enhance
the training experience. In keeping with the continuing emphasis
on inter-council cooperation, Council on Member Affairs (CMA)
representatives are also invited to the TEC. In addition,
both current and incoming Leadership Development Interns (LDI)
from all Councils, from the Board of Governors (BOG), and
from the Board on Minorities and Women (BMW), are also invited
to the TEC.
