Ricardo
(Ric) Pérez WESTINGHOUSE Senior Vice President, Nuclear
Services |
In
June 2003, Mr. Pérez assumed responsibility for the worldwide
operations of Westinghouse Nuclear Services, the organization
that keeps nuclear plants operating safely and competitively
through field, engineering, and repair and replacement services.
Before this position, Mr. Pérez was responsible for the leadership
of global Field Services, which provides inspections, maintenance
and repair of nuclear power plant equipment worldwide. He
assumed this position in January 2002.
Before
January 2002, Mr. Pérez was senior vice president, Nuclear
Services Europe and was responsible for leading Westinghouse's
nuclear services operations across Europe and integrating
the European operations of the former ABB Nuclear into Westinghouse.
During this time, Mr. Pérez was located with BNFL's Magnox
Generation Business Group in the UK.
Previously,
Mr. Pérez was vice president and general manager, Nuclear
Services Business Unit. In that position, he was responsible
for all nuclear field services businesses in the U.S. Additionally,
Mr. Pérez directed Westinghouse's global nuclear service marketing
and commercial strategy in 1996 and 1997.
From
1991 through 1995, Mr. Pérez took on the vital service aspects
of Westinghouse business in Western and Eastern Europe. His
European duties included establishing the Westinghouse initial
entry strategy for Eastern Europe and serving on the board
of directors of two joint ventures. He also served as director
of engineering for Westinghouse operations in Europe, while
stationed in Brussels, Belgium.
Before
Mr. Pérez's European assignments, he spent over a decade in
direct support of nuclear operating plants in the United States.
Mr. Pérez held positions of increasing responsibility within
Westinghouse nuclear services businesses, including extensive
experience in nuclear component servicing and maintenance.
These assignments included analytical and hands-on field experience,
highlighted by a three-year assignment as the Westinghouse
site services manager at Southern California Edison's San
Onofre Nuclear Generating Stations. While in these positions,
Mr. Pérez led service projects for both Westinghouse- and
Combustion Engineering-designed reactors.
Mr.
Pérez earned his Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering
from the University of Florida and a Masters of Science in
Energy Resources from the University of Pittsburgh. He also
is an active member of the Society of Hispanic Professional
Engineers and the Spanish Nuclear Society.
